Why a doll with an ostomy bag?
For children who have an ostomy bag themselves, or know someone who does, play can be a way to understand and process. By giving children a doll that reflects their reality – with an ostomy bag that can be taken on and off – we create space for conversation, empathy, and a strengthened self-image.
And for children without personal experience with stomas, the doll can be a valuable part of learning about bodily differences in a natural and respectful way.
